The Jerome Wagner Youth Residence for Boys, located in White Plains, New York in Westchester County, is operated by Family Services of Westchester. With the help of the Steiner Family, Steiner Sports and Last Licks, the property is being renovated to provide 8 at-risk adolescents in Westchester with a modern and comfortable living environment where they can feel secure and thrive.
This residence provides support for teens in crisis, giving them a safe and nurturing environment in which to live while they are completing school. The youth in the FSW youth residences are ages 13 to 21, and may come with needs that could be the result of emotional and physical trauma, abuse or neglect, and all have struggled with issues of loss. Here, with the support of house parents, therapists, social workers, recreational staff, and specialized tutors, youth are helped to address and work through their issues. They benefit from what other children have in their natural homes: a caring environment that enables them to learn and grow; a safe haven that provides guidelines for interaction with their peers, their teachers, their employers and the community at large.
