Mets and Steiner to Market Fantasy Experiences with top players, hand signed memorabilia
New York, August 4“Mets Steiner,” a unique, multi-faceted marketing partnership between the New York Mets and New Rochelle-based Steiner Sports Marketing, will launch on Wednesday, August 9, with an on-line auction to benefit The Jerome Wagner Youth Residence for Boys, it was announced jointly today by the Mets and Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner. Beginning with Wednesday's Mets vs. San Diego Padres game at Shea Stadium, and continuing through August 20th, 100 items will be available to bid on at www.steinersports.com, with an additional 40 items at www.mets.com.
The unprecedented partnership will provide fans with access to Mets memorabilia and players, and will release hundreds of authenticated memorabilia from New York’s hottest franchise.
During Wednesday’s on line auction, fans will have the opportunity to bid on bases and equipment from that night’s contest against the Padres, as well as a David Wright game-used uniform, and fantasy experiences including meeting 20 members of the 1986 Mets World Championship team, a visit with manager Willie Randolph at his office at Shea Stadium, and a visit with former Met great Keith Hernandez in the SNY broadcast booth. All proceeds will go to The Jerome Wagner Youth Residence for Boys.
Mets Steiner will include a wide variety marketing opportunities for companies and individuals such as suite visits featuring former Mets stars, on-field experiences batting practice sessions, meet and greet appearances from players, as well as unique specially-created signed collectibles.

The Jerome Wagner Youth Residence for Boys, located in White Plains, New York in Westchester County, was first opened last year with the help of the Steiner Family, Steiner Sports, Last Licks and Family Services of Westchester. The home assists 16 at risk adolescents in Westchester with modern and comfortable living environments in which the youngsters will feel secure and thrive. Two homes are under renovation and provide the teens with the opportunity for healthy development.
Mets Steiner will market a wide range of products, including game used bats, balls, player jerseys, caps and lineup cards. Many of these items will be signed by players. Their value will vary depending upon the type of artifact, whether or not it is signed, and the significance of the game in which the item was used or worn.
