The Four R's to Overcoming Procrastination

Mark Twain once said, “The secret to getting ahead is getting started.”

Those words hold true for each and every situation we come across. Unfortunately, many people have made up in their mind that they would rather do other things than to take the first step in getting started. They procrastinate.

Here are the Four R’s to Overcoming Procrastination:

Recognize

Recognize that you’re procrastinating is the first step to take in resolving it.

Realize

Why is it you are procrastinating? Could it be you are overwhelmed by the project just like I wrote about previously when I was trying to decide on a name for my blog? Could it be that you think you will fail?

Reinforce

After realizing the reason behind your procrastination, you will want to talk yourself through completing the task by telling yourself that you will not fail.  Reassure yourself that a feeling of being slightly overwhelmed is okay as long as you don’t allow the feeling to engulf you.

As odd as it may seem, perfectionists are often procrastinators because they tend to think “I don’t have the proper resources or ability to do this perfectly so I just won’t do it at all.”

Reward

After talking yourself through the process of procrastination and finally completing the task, reward yourself by eating your favorite food or visiting your favorite place.

Mithilesh Chudgar said, “Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.” Therefore, I strongly urge you to breathe life into your talents, birth your ideas and allow your passion to come alive!

What sort of passion, talent, or ideas have you buried in the graveyard of procrastination?

What’s the first thing you will do to bring them back to life?

  • I just want to say Thank You to everyone who supported me through the years. My name is Manuel Franco, New Berlin, Wisconsin. My story of how I won the Powerball lottery of $768.4M is a bit of a tale. I have been playing Powerball tickets for 6 years now since I turned 18. I bought my first ticket on my 18 birthday. I was feeling very lucky that day because I had contacted Dr. Odunga Michael to help me with the winning Powerball numbers. I really had that great great feeling that I looked at the camera wanting to wink at it. I only did a tiny part of it and trusted him. He gave me the numbers after I played a couple other tickets along with it for $10. I checked my ticket after the winnings came online and saw the numbers were correct including the Power play. I screamed for about 10 minutes because it felt like a dream. I had won $768.4M. You can check my winning testimony with the lottery officials just with my name search. Thank you Dr Odunga. Well, his email is odungaspelltemple@gmail.com and you can also call or Whats-app him at +2348167159012 so you guys can contact him
