FSW’s STAR Gala Celebrates Contributions of the Lembeck Family

Nearly 300 guests attended Family Services of Westchester’s recent 2012 STAR Gala at Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. Tony Lembeck of Goldens Bridge and his family received the STAR Award for their 18 years of volunteer work at Camp Viva, a one week sleep-away camp experience for families affected by HIV/AIDS. Swiss Re, a global reinsurer whose U.S. division is headquartered in Armonk, received the Corporate Citizenship Award for the company’s Thanksgiving-in-a-box Food Drive and Community Service Days with FSW’s programs. Caroline Clarke of New Rochelle, executive editor and host of Black Enterprise Business Report, emceed the event, while Tony Award winner Lachanze of Mount Vernon sang from her Broadway repertoire. Michael Weissman of New Rochelle served as volunteer auctioneer, encouraging guests to donate more than $30,000 to FSW’s Hope Fund. Founded in 1954, FSW serves more than 30,000 people each year through 55 mental health and social service programs. Check out the agency’s website at www.fsw.org.
