Mike Tyson Surprises Youth Boxers

Over the summer Evander Holyfield and I surprised the boys in the boxing program at the Yonkers PAL with new equipment and funding for their trip to a national boxing tournament in California (which they won!). I decided to do another special thing for them this week with a surprise from former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson! See how it happened:

NEW ROCHELLE - Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson visited Steiner Sports Memorabilia headquarters in New Rochelle Thursday to meet some Yonkers PAL boxers.

Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner set up the meeting with Tyson, hoping that it would benefit the boxers both inside and outside of the ring.

"He did a lot of great things, he's a great athlete and he also made a lot of stupid, dumb mistakes, and I think its important to see both sides of that and they learn from that," he said.

Steiner also helped fund a trip for the PAL team to go to California for a national boxing tournament. It cost roughly $10,000.
