When was the Last Time You Put in a Full Day of Work?

Business stamina. Do you have it?

Here’s the thing: You spend the whole day eating really well and maybe you get the exercise in on some of those days. All of a sudden around 7 or 8pm you start eating all kinds of junk and you go off the deep-end.

You’ve been awake for about 12 hours at that point. Why in those last four hours can you not finish your day out strong?

On the same token, what’s your stamina at work between 4-6pm let alone the last day of the week. Can you tell the difference between your performance on a Monday vs. a Wednesday vs. a Friday?

Are you aware of your mental stamina? And, are you aware of the strength your mental stamina can have? Two hours of a poor diet after eating great the rest of the day can result in obesity. Two hours of “I did enough today” at the office doesn’t equate to a win.

Two hours at the end of the day may not seem like a lot, but that’s 10 hours a week, 40 hours a month and 480 hours a year. Time wasted because your mental stamina is weak.

My question to you is, how do you keep yourself in the game so that your trainer, coaches, teammates and bosses can’t tell the difference between Spring Training and the World Series?

I’m not so sure the “great ones” were so great, as much as they were consistent. Most of the “great” ones got the label because of the consistency over the course of time. Most employees that get raises are the same way.
