Helping Kids In The Inner City With An Olympic Hero

Last summer I had the pleasure of doing something very special for a group of children at a local elementary school in the Bronx as part of The Hook-Up.

I was joined by Olympic champion and track and field icon Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Modell’s Sporting Goods to hook-up the kids in their track and field program with gear and also a very special clinic with Jackie.

This is one of my favorite moments of the year. This time of the year I like to set a goal for 2017. One of those goals is to complete remaking this school's track.

This is a day that I will remember forever. Having an opportunity to light-up a young child’s face and give them a memory that will last a lifetime is one of the most special I can think of and it’s a feeling that never gets old. Watch it all happen:

Thank you Mr. Steiner for supporting our Abbott House Community School Program in the Bronx. Queen Doris our Abbott House staff member does a great job working with the at-risk kids in the Bronx. We invite you to learn more about the life saving work Abbott House does for children who have been deeply hurt and traumatized and that now face a lifetime of healing. www.abbotthouse.net
